Illinois’ Governor Pat Quinn forms Nursing Home Safety Task Force

In addition to the elderly, nursing homes also house ex-convicts and the mentally ill. The State of Illinois cares for more mentally ill people within its nursing homes than any other state in the country. The Chicago Tribune’s coverage of this issue prompted Governor Quinn to form the Nursing Home Safety Task Force. The Task Force will present its final recommendations on how to address nursing home safety to the Governor by January 31st.
